Welcome message from the Chair

of  the EU/ Erasmus+ project   ICU-RERE

On behalf of the Steering groups, I am pleased to welcome you to

be familiar with this new EU/Erasmus+ capacity building project ICU

For those of you who are not familiar with EU capacity building

projects, ICU-RER, allow me to briefly introduce the two concepts.

Capacity-building projects (CBP) in the field of higher education are

transnational cooperation projects based on multilateral partnerships

primarily between higher education institutions  from Programme and eligible Partner Countries.

The aim of these projects is to support eligible Partner Countries to:

  1. modernize, internationalize and increase access to higher education

  2. address the challenges facing their higher education institutions and systems

  3. increase cooperation with the EU voluntarily converge with EU development in higher                           education, and remote people to people contacts, intercultural awareness, and  understanding.

  4. ICU_RERE project is a tool to achieve the aim of the CBP.

Our project is about “ e.Healthcare Industry Cooperation with University (I C U)  to

“Reinforcing of Education- Research” E-Health (RERE) & Medical Links.

The mission of the I C U- RER project is to enforce A Knowledge Triangle (AKT)

Approach to integrate Education, Research and Community (ERC) to provide timely system focuses on the advances in technology that offer patients, practitioners,

medical centers, and hospitals new and innovative options for high quality and cost effective

e.medical and healthcare. The major four corner stones of the  ICU-RER are C A R E:

  1. Creating of a new relationship between the healthcare sector (Industry), health                            professional and University (Education & Research) a true partnership, where decisions                           are made in a shared manner including training of physicians through online sources                  (continuing medical education)

  2. Achieve and Enhance high quality. E-health may enhance the quality of health care for                    example by allowing comparisons between different providers, involving patients’                           additional power for quality assurance.

  3. Research and Evidence based- interventions is knowledge and evidence-                                based in a sense that their effectiveness and efficiency should not be assumed but                             proven by rigorous scientific research& evaluation

  4. Efficiency - one of the promises of e-health is to increase efficiency in health care,                             thereby decreasing costs by avoiding duplication or unnecessary diagnostic or                              therapeutic interventions,

The consortium members of this project are 18 universities & institutions from Sweden,  Italy,

Austria, Estonia, Egypt and Lebanon.

You are most welcome and hope that you find all information &knowledge about                                       the project  on this website/homepage.
